A view at low tide across Porth Nanven towards Cape Cornwall from the high overlook nicknamed ‘The Castle’.  If conditions are right and the air is clear during the winter months, one gets a sense of immense distances from the many high viewpoints along the cliff tops. Clouds moving overhead create patchworks of light and shadow that creep over the horizon and parade across the ocean.

Mid-January and already the days are slowly getting longer. There has been a great deal of unsettled weather, but so far we have been spared the dramatic storms and constant heavy rain of the past two winters. It remains to be seen what the next few months will bring before the first acid yellow-greens of new growth start to punctuate the russet colours of autumn and winter as a prelude to the approach of spring.
