A bright, windy, sunny morning with spring-like temperatures rapidly gave way to an afternoon of high winds and rain. A good opportunity to go to the south-facing slopes of Cape Cornwall on the falling tide to try and make sense of the forms of the Atlantic rollers breaking over the offshore reefs.
While we haven’t yet had truly ferocious gales like those experienced in the damaging storms of the last two winters, there have been very few calm days and the near constant wind has been a particularly notable feature of this winter season.
