A year after the winter storms of 2014 and the gorse still hasn’t recovered from the burn damage caused by the salt spray and wind. On the leeward faces of some intact old growth stands the first hints of new buds are visible and these should grow over the coming summer months. Only a few stands along this path have any flowers at all. Appearing during winter and spring, the vibrant yellows that usually carpet the cliffs at this time of year are but a pale shadow of past displays.
