Plein air, oil on board apprx. 24 x 15cm
This evening I headed down to Porth Nanven to paint the incoming waves as dusk fell. What began as an unpromising overcast sky with a hint of drizzle, quickly turned into a dramatic moody display of shifting clouds and rapidly changing light every few minutes as a dramatic sunset took place. Rather than ‘chase the light’ and risk ending up with nothing to show for my time, I stuck to my initial intent and tried to paint something of the scene as it was upon my arrival.
